Job Description

To Grind and Sand welded parts to company standards and specifications. This position will work from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. 

Qualifications :

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education:

• High school diploma or general educational development (GED)

Experience:

• 1-year related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Skills:

• To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or abilities required

ESSENTIAL RESULTS:

• Select grade of abrasive belt wheel sand rolls or disk according to specifications knowledge of abrasives and condition of metal and attaches to various grinding and polishing tools.
• Must be able to operate but not limited to the following tools: large angle grinders small angle grinders belt sanders die grinders orbital sanders drum sanders and hand files.
• Visually and physically inspect parts for any dents scratches and rust that needs to be removed.
• Using tools on surface of work piece to remove scratches tool marks excess weld material sharp edges and burrs
• Perform general clean-up duties of the equipment and surrounding areas.
• May perform basic material handling duties with the use of manual pallet jack and/or forklift to move material and stage materials.
• Adhere to all Peerless and OSHA safety related work rules and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Must be able to work overtime including weekends as needed.
• Must be physically capable of standing/bending/stooping/squeezing 8 hour shift(s)
• Must be able to lift carry and/or move up to 30 pounds on a given day without assistance. Anything above 30 lbs. will be a team lift.
• Must have the ability to push pull material and equipment as needed.

Must be able to wear required safety equipment including gloves glasses and respirators.
