Middle School Nutrition Worker (Part-Time)Amherst Middle School is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Nutrition Worker to join our food service team. This position works closely with the Chef-Manager to ensure efficient meal service and compliance with all food safety standards.Key Responsibilities:Assist with preparation and service of breakfast food and beveragesSupport the Chef-Manager with meal prep for lunch service and future productionSet up and assist with lunch line service, including serving studentsMaintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with state and federal regulationsFollow standardized recipes and portion control guidelinesProvide friendly and efficient customer service to students and staffQualifications:Skills:Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentBasic operation of kitchen equipmentStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to maintain accurate records and follow proceduresCustomer service-oriented mindsetKnowledge:Basic math and reading comprehensionAbility to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsFamiliarity with food safety and sanitation practices (training provided if needed)Certifications:Safe Food Handler Certification required within 30 days of hirePhysical Requirements & Work Environment:Ability to stand for extended periods (majority of shift)Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and reachingMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsWork performed in a kitchen environment with varying temperaturesOccasional travel to other schools within the district may be requiredAdditional Requirements:Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse teamStrong communication skillsFlexibility to adapt to changing kitchen needs and product availabilityExperience in food service is preferred but not requiredwe are willing to train the right candidate.If you are reliable, positive, and enjoy working as part of a team, we encourage you to apply!
